Dr. Ram Subbaiah


Profile

Dr.Ram Subbiah , Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, completed his Ph.D from Singhania University, Pilani and has over 11 years of academic and research experience. His Ph.D work was on Surface Hardening on Stainless Steel Material by Different Case Hardening Process which was carried out at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Trivandrum – Inertial System Unit, Bearing and Space Tribilogy Division, Low speed Mechanism Section. Prior to PhD, he obtained Masters of Technology (M.Tech) in Computer Integrated Manufacturing as a Gold Medallist from SRM University – Chennai, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Education Management from Alagappa University – Karaikudi, Bachelors of Engineering (BE) in Mechatronics Engineering from Anna University – Chennai, and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) from Directorate of Technical Education – Chennai.

Dr. Ram research interests include on various Heat treatment process, Surface Hardening and Surface Coating Techniques, Mechatronics Oriented Projects, Automation with Fluid Power Systems in which he has more than 75 publications, in various journals and conferences. He is currently working on development of alloy steels improving wear resistance and hardness by various low temperature heat treatment processes. He holds life Membership of The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) and International Association of Engineers.
